Looking over my website I’m a little horrified (!) at how long it’s been since I’ve logged on to check it over, or post any updates. Professional and personal life is usually busy so that somewhat accounts for it. Throw a pandemic into the equation: this left myself and many colleagues fully booked and even with waiting lists, as sadly now things have opened up post-lockdowns, we have been witnessing the longer term impact on people’s mental wellbeing. Additionally, there seems to be increasing large scale instability and stressors both nationally and globally, which is hard to ignore, and will be taking its toll so I suspect therapists and counsellors will not be short of work for some time to come.
Amongst all this I’ve become a mother, and am currently on my second lot of maternity leave, so not taking referrals myself at present. However, if you are looking for therapy for yourself or someone you know, do feel free to email me and I will get back to you in case I can be of help in signposting you to a suitably experienced colleague. I will get back to you, although it may take a little longer than usual as during maternity leave I’m not checking my emails/phone as frequently: as well as cherishing this special time with my little ones, and doing a little bit of CPD to keep up my clinical skills, I’m also using it as a chance to rest and recharge professionally, so that when I return to work I do so fully refreshed and ready to help.
In the meantime, take good care, support each other and reach out for professional help if you need an extra layer on input to stay well and happy.
